Default St. Pete GP

I was thinking of going over for the Sat. Indy Car qualifying and ALMS race. Does anyone know about a P-car corral? I'm pretty sure that PCNA/IMSA is not sponsoring one. How about the Suncoast PCA region?

Also, what about tickets, spectator experience etc.? I realize street races are a different breed compared to the purpose built tracks.

I've been the last couple years. It's a great venue for a race. My brother in law used to fly helicopters out of Al Witted air field so we got right into the ALMS pits for free! He is now flying people out to oil rigs in the gulf out of New Orleans but I hope his old boss will come across with passes. The crowds are much better behaved than at other series like Nascar. I plan on being there one way of another. BTW, I thought the ALMS race on Sat was much better than the Indy car race on Sunday.

Suncoast PCA does have a "car corral" just outside the track. Check out the link to their calendar for more info. They also have a raffle for a chance to ride in the Indy Car 2 seater.

IMSA is not sponsoring any corrals for this event.

I think you'll find the Turn 10 grandstand to be just about as good as it'll gets and they usually have seats available right up to race weekend. At least, that's been my experience. Great town that's undergone some nice changes. Plenty of great places to eat and drink on Central Ave.

I have always just walked up and bought great seats either at turn 10 or turn 1.

Thanks for the tips guys. Looking at the track map, T10 looks like a good vantage point. And a nice view of the marina.

I'll be there for the first time. I am fired up for the experience. The GT2 field seems to be loaded. Go Porsche!
