Default Anyone have experience with plastic trailer tongue boxes?

I realize that aluminum is nicer and possibly stronger but at 1/3rd the price I am considering a plastic trailer tongue box.

If they can be easily cracked with a hammer then I'll pass but if they are pretty secure I may get one.

Anyone with first hand experience?

Really;

It's not to hard to rip the lids off by cutting the plastic around the lock shackle or busting the hinge.

I have one and I'm sure you could easily break into it as RedlineMan describes. But just a note, I lost the key to my lock the other day and it took me all of 10 seconds to cut the lock off with a cutting wheel. So even a diamond plate one is not secure if you think about it. Cutting the lock off is easier than cutting up the plastic.

One other note, I upgraded the locking hasp on mine because the one that came with it was a POS. I just don't leave anything too valuable in there. The lock just keeps out the easy opportunity theives no matter which one you go with.
