Default Speed Raw Feed at ALMS Events

I purchased a scanner this past week to listen to the race while walking around the track (Racing Radios heatset with Uniden scanner). One of the gems I found was listening to the raw feed from the Speed TV production van at the track. Lots of very informative info you never hear on air, or on the ALMS feed (which isn't bad either). Plus, a lot of really funny stuff, sounds like those guys have a ton of fun while working.

For those with scanners the freq is- 450.1875 (alternate is 450.1625).

Pics from the track to follow in a day or so, I have to fwd some (300 or so) to IMSA first.

I spent a good part of the day watching the race and listening to the Flying Lizard's radio communication. would have been nice to have the ALMS raw feed too.

SeaCay- Another channel to switch too at times is the corner worker channel. You can actually learn more about what's going on than any other place. I've never bothered with the SpeedTV feed at the ALMS races so I'm not sure how much of the info overlaps.

I have those freq's saved too, but either the antenna sucks, or they weren't being overly chatty while I had them dialed in. I'll try again in 3 weeks.

The Speed guys have a ton of off-air conversations going on discussing everything going on during the race, kinda like a conversation between a bunch of friends while watching the race on TV, plus stuff like lap times, time differentials between the cars, etc. I thought it was a great way to keep track of what was happening on the entire circuit while watching one particular corner.

My photo folder is 51 GB for this race alone. Some of that is the redundancy of RAW and JPEG of the same photo, and some is IMSA car corral stuff. It was my first Sebring event with credentials so I kinda went hog wild on the shutter. Hopefully a couple are good enough to print.

SeaCay,

Your shots keep getting better every event you go to. The colors look great in those shots. I don't think I have the chance to shoot ALMS this year with my move to NC. GrandAm conflicts with Petit unfortunately too. Oh well. Next year I'll make it too Sebring and you can show me the locations.

Wow, thanks. A great way to get fired up to get to work on processing a ton of pics.

Unfortunately, I wasn't "tiered" enough to garner a decent photo spot for the start, so I had to take those pics through the fence...

Not too shabby for through the fence. Is your new avatar one of the shots you took?

Any idea if these frequencies are streamed over the internet?? Would be cool to listen in from afar.
