Instructor/Student Bluetooth communicator
Just read about a new (I believe) wireless helmet communicator. It is the Scala-rider Q2 Bluetooth headset.
Supposedly has noise cancellation and of course is wireless. Bad news is that it is $220 list.
I don't have any experience with it, nor any further info, but since we were talking about something like this a few months back, thought I would post it. Their site is scalarider.com.
Anyone have any further info?

BlueAnt has a setup for bikes that can be had in the low $100 range on eBay. Don't specifically recall it saying noise canceling, but again, used for bikes so probably similar to chatterbox. Also allowed for other external inputs.
Of course $100ish was just for one setup, and you'd need 2 for an instructor student setup, so I guess it's in the same price range. Another option, none the less.

This place has them on sale for $179+ free shipping.
I was thinking of getting a race radio set-up, but I am going to buy this and try it out with my cell phone for Road Atlanta. I see no reasons why it would not work. I love the idea of no additional wires. I have a motorcycle, so If it does not work out for racing I will use it when I am on the bike.
This is the parent company website. Lots of info, faq, ect.

Nady seams to make relatively cheap (less than $100) helmet communicators (link).
Not sure about the quality though

Yes, thank you. I actually have used the Chatterbox (an alternative to the Nady) for a few years.
In the original thread, we were pondering the need for wireless communication, given how often I get tangled up in my headset's wiring! Both Chatter and Nady are wired.
I appreciate the tip, though.

I don't believe they are referring to a 5 mile range on Bluetooth, rather a 5 mile range on FRS RF channels with the audio being transmitted to the X1 via Bluetooth rather than a cabled microphone/headset.....basically a modificaiton of what they already had.

I've seen it done with Nextel Direct Connect rather than a conventional cellphone.
