I'd like to drive one.

Hell I'd like to drive their 'entry level' 300hp car.

No, not mine, just the pin-up girl until mine arrives mid may, I hope.
Not sure how much cheaper the Atom would have been but it really wasn't a tough decision to go with the WF1.

I took the current Ariel model for a couple of laps at a track last summer... i can only imagine how scary the 500hp variant must be.

That is a current Stohr DSR. It is only 1,000cc - you should road race him for pink slips - you have him killed on HP

Mark made me do it ! Chris, I'll give you a little head start at the first Bruce day! I won't be the only one there with a new sport racer. There will also be a new Atom ( not sure which motor) at Le Club, . I'll let you know which is faster but my money is on the Stohr

I have an Atom, and I can tell you that although it is very quick, it is NO MATCH for a Stohr, and I doubt the 500hp version will be either. I've been on the track with Radicals, and they're much faster. The Atom doesn't have the tires or aero to be in this league. The other thing to keep in mind is that Atoms are built for street use first, and have barely ever been raced, so there's yet to be an Atom properly set up for track use. Just the opposite of a Stohr or Radical. Apples and Oranges really.

PS - check out the ride height in my avatar vs yours

I've heard about two more Radicals which will be making a regular appearance at Bruce days.

I'll just keep my hand out the window all the time to give you guys the pass.

This is an arms race if I've ever seen one. Can't wait to see it go by me Mike.

Bringing a WF1 to a track day is like bringing a tactical nuclear weapon to a knife fight Stohr makes some beautiful and fast machines. The speed to dollar ratio on the Stohrs is impressive. The minimally developed Stohr f1000 at my home track runs laps 6 seconds faster that Johannes van Overbeck (sp?) in a 996 grand am spec cup car. I understand the WF1 is sig faster than the f1000.

I gave serious consideration to getting a Stohr F1000 this fall, but ultimately pulled the trigger on a pro formula mazda. I have a four year old and felt better about racing with a carbon tub in a car that runs at near atlantic speeds.

I would have gone for gone for an f1000 or a Star Mazda in a second but, we can't get any track time or racing for open- wheeled cars around here. Somehow, Atoms and Caterham type cars are classified as "closed wheel" ??? With a Radical or Stohr we are able to get in on lapping days and with most car clubs.
