A930Rocket

I have two sets of BBS 3 piece magnesium wheels that I would like to refinish. Currently they are the gold, but I think I'd like to go with the silver finish they have now. Taking them apart and rebuilding them isn't a problem, but I wonder about the small nuts that are pressed into the wheel center. Do these need to be removed for a better job or should they just be taped off? Looks like a lot of work to press every one out and back in.

Has anyone refinished theirs? Would bead blasting them be OK remove the old paint? What paint did you use. Did you paint and clear coat them? Any other ideas?
