Quick update:
Left foot is broken, not fractured. Full lower leg cast for 3 weeks, then re x-ray.
He's not happy.

He walks the track at 7AM, lunchtime and 7PM when the track closes...always.
He identifies his 'outs' in case of contact or emergency in addition to the usual reference markers, track defects, unusual curbing, etc.
He keeps a track map by his chair and driver's bag and usually studies a track map for at least a full week prior to arriving at a new track.

I usually walk the track seperately (nervous I guess) in the morning and pick up/remove debris that might cause a tire problem.

After that, it's all fate and racer's luck I suppose.
Thats great he does that, good habit into already. It is also a competetive advantage, find ref. points, study camber etc.
