The Turtles were snarling in Sebring
The warm Florida sun brought the Turtles out of hibernation with a vengence.
Podiums all around the Turtle pond.
Jeff Phillips had a couple, though he was concentrating so much on being fast, he totally shirked his responsibilities as Grid Girl Procurer. The were absolutely no lovelies to hold umbrellas over the roofs of the HWFM cars.
Chris Inglot hit for the cycle, with a 3rd, a 2nd and his very first First. That Wascawee Wabbit was runnin’ all weekend.
The notorious Nemesis, Doug Crossman, rubbed salt in my wounds by also by getting one of each -- 1,2, and a 3 . Way to go, Doug. But I still hate you.
Mike Walsdorf (MRW) was proudly displaying new graphics on the car. He also picked up a co-driver for the Enduro. Fellow named Jack Baldwin. Maybe you’ve heard of him.
(I’ll let Mike tell that Turtle tale)
Had a lot of fun tag-team-battling with HWFMers Rick Fairweather and mentee Chuck Reiter. Rick was chasing a Boost Gremlin all weekend which turned his F car into an E car at times. But we had fun wailin’ on each other.
John H. was down mixing it up with the fast cars, as was his buddy, Copter Pilot Chip Henderson. There’s HWFM potential in that AirCobra Driver.
Great seeing lots of other Rennlisters as well.
Unfortunately I never caught up with Mac McGehee and Jim Breakey (along with the lovely Karen) to share the beers we’ve been promising ourselves for 3 or 4 races now. Both were flying in their beautiful Cup Cars.
And while Rich Tillotson did turn this turtle into soup in a couple of the races, it was a pleasure to see him behind me on the qualifying grid.
Great that Lou L could make it out on Saturday. We miss you on the track. Get well soon Buddy.
Jupe and Colin were smoking. Fun seeing them blast by, especially Charlie at night.
Katie I was at their trailer early Thursday morning. There were still a couple 7 Layer cookies left. Yum. Thanks for making them. In fact I'm attributing my mediocre performance to a sugar hangover that lasted 3 days. I also attribute my new personal best time to them.
Congrats to on track long-time sparing partner, Bob Love, for taking the class win in the very first PCA night race. Nice drive Bob. And I really enjoyed hanging out with you and Dan over the weekend. And your E still isn’t big enough (had to say it)
Speaking of Bob’s win in the Night Race, I’m thinking Turtles must be nocturnal animals. That racing after dark is a hoot. All your standard reference points are gone. (But since my eyes are usually closed for most corners in the daytime, I adapted quickly.)
Sea Cay your shots are awesome. Thanks for sharing them with Rennlist.
And I have to mention just how incredibly fast Glen Gatlin is. Amazing. I BELEVE, Glen, I BELEVE.
Sebring is always a great event. Loved the Night Race, and hope it comes back next year. Great job by the organizers, and you guys do have the best dress shirts in racing. Even if we don’t drive good, we can look good.

Do you lose turtle status if you podium so frequently like that?
Those were good 7 layer cookies. Perhaps I should be attributing my success to them, as well. After all, I ate the most of them...

Sounds like you all had too much fun. And all the Podiums? WTF. Membership revocations might be forthcoming? That's BT department. I think he has already hinted that that is a possibility.
Lets just tell Mother Superior. Spankings all around!
BIG congrats to all of you for doing so well and doing it safely.

You guys are obviously having too much fun - and hitting too many apexes. One wonders if the BT shouldn't be subjected to a disciplinary hearing...
I'm just jealous as my Turtle is currently disassembled and waiting for reassembly so I can't go have fun until late March.
