Thumbs up Hill Climb Events

Another post in this section brings up hill climb events.

I've allways been interested in this type of event, and it seems that fewer and fewer are being run.

Anybody know of any events on or near the west coast? I'd love to give it a try!

If you've run any, Post some of your hill climb adventures here!

John.

These are in Vermont, but there are quite a few. I might try one out this year. They look like a blast!

Here is a video of my first Hill Climb at Rose Valley. I beat the SM2 record.

Looks like we would be in Prepared 2 class, even with the % deductions for DOT tires and race class.

what kind of tires do you run in something like that? Autocross? You'd want something that would heat up quick.

Or if slicks, Hoosier R25's and Avon has special so-called hillclimb compounds.

I did my first one last year that was only half an hour from my home. I helped with the cableing from the top of the mountain to the start. It was a blast to drive on a winding country road at full throttle, knowing that nothing was coming the other way. Kind of reminds me of running from the cops! Ours is not on the west coast however. That's OK. We should try it out just for the fun of the drive . Let's put a date on the calendar!
