Default Horn or no horn for DE

OK, I'm about to pull the trigger on an AIM dash for my car and am considering the steering wheel that it mounts on; however that wheel has no horn.
What do you guys think?
I am leaning towards keeping the horn and just mounting it to the dash BUT wanted to hear if there is another horn solution, etc... that anyone has used...

thanks!
Greg

When would you use a horn at a DE?

What the heck do you need a horn for?

By the way, that is a karting steering wheel...

If you drive it on the street at all you may want it. Otherwise ditch it.

Per aim, that steering wheel is available for mounting mychron gold xg log...
Anyway, the car is driven to and from the track but that is about it. However, even at DE, I have had times when a horn would be handy...

The horn can be useful for waking up sleeping flaggers

horn to avoid the parking lot/paddock low speed collisions. (Saw two of those a couple years ago at LCMT)

I think that, if you start using your horn at the track while you are on track, the negative reinforcement will be immediate, unpleasant and lengthy.......

On the other hand, when comming up behind a "track boulder" (you know who you are...) truck type air horns would be worth a couple of yucks...

That's a karting wheel you pictured...much too small for a car:

This is the auto wheel:

They are both pretty "small" for a tin top car. They are made with karts and single-seat racers in mind since they have very limited dash space

Why would you ever need to blow your horn at a DE? A) Between loud exhausts and helmets, it will rarely be heard. B) If you are that upset with a driver, you should pull into the pits and talk to the steward.

I think that wheel would be a real PITA if you have to turn it past 180°.
