944 Canada Cup
Canuck 944 Racers:
Beginning in 2008, the 944 Cup is establishing a championship for Canadian 944 racers with a new perpetual trophy called the 944 Canada Cup. The trophy will go to the driver residing in Canada who accumulates the most 944 Cup points during the season. The winner gets his name on the trophy and gets to keep the trophy for a year then passes it along to the next winner. The trophy is being sponsored by MantisSport of Canada.
The 2008 944 Canada Cup by MantisSport will be determined by the best 10 races during the year to include any points from Regional races in any of the 7 Cup Chapters and the 3 races at Nationals.
Good luck to all our friends from Canada.

Thanks Alan, but there are going to be some fast Canadians in very well prepared cars that are running 944 Cup full time. My car is a 944 Spec car....I just can't resist the lure of Dave's well run, very competitive series here in the East. It's just a lot of fun to compete in a large field with great competitors. Hopefully 944 Spec will grow here to duplicate this great series.

Is there going to actually be a Northwest chapter? (the dates & locations were TBA Feb1st..) And how many cars are competing?
Cuz if I run my 951 in Supercup for 10 races and there's no one else in my class....

Rich the 944 Cup points system takes into account the number of competitors. It is a minimun of seven to get Cup points. Nice try though

The NW is planned for 2008, schedule expected any day from our regional director. We did drop the 7 minimum entries required for 2008. So, ......

Well then......DD you need to update the 2008 Rules posted on the 944Cup site. What if anything is to stop someone from doing as Rich suggests and 'winning' a Regional Cup Championship without ever racing anyone? It doesn't sound like much fun, but maybe to someone it might prove satisfying.

See what u are saying Bill, we will update rules to include a provision that falls somewhere in between the 7 car rule and NASA rules which have no minimum requirement.
