Hourly forecast for Saturday

6am: 27

9am: 36

12noon: 50

3pm: 58

6pm: 55

My poor cab is like the SR-71 Blackbird - it's a bucket of loosely screwed down metal until it warms up enough to expand and fill the gaps! It will be shake rattle and roll for those morning runs.

It might be a little dicey getting out there early tomorrow morning if the roads are still wet tonight. Lots of bridges and stuff and it'll be well below freezing first thing in the morning. Good thing 911's have 60% of the weight in the rear for traction. I'm hoping that with the sun out today and above freezing, the paved surfaces will dry before tonight.

I just talked to Shelly. She is at EC wet track with snow still around the edges.

Lets hope it keeps melting for the next few hours before it freezes back up.

Just spoke to a ECR member who was out there today. There are a dozen spots where the run-off from the melting snow is draining across the track. The rest of the track is dry. They are working to create additional run-off ditches, but in his opinion, the freezing temps will return before all of the snow is melted - or at least before all of the water has run off. Therefore we will have some frozen run-off on some sections when the sun comes up. The first dry run of the day will most likely be mid-morning.

If I understand the driver meeting rules correctly, attendance is required for the 1st run session - even if the first session is delayed. So if you miss the drivers meeting, show up at say, 9am, and the first session is delayed until say, 10am, you still have to wait until the second session to run. If that's correct, then you still want to be there at 7:30 for the drivers meeting in order to join even a delayed 1st session.

The afternoon should be great. I'm still in.

I just dropped off my trailer. Lots of water, and it won't all dry tonight from what I can see. I didn't see the track though, just the parking area. Still lots of snow in the fields, and 51 is fairly wet and might be icy in the morning, 380 was dry.

Yeah, its gonna be muddy for anyone that is unfortunate enough to go off the track. Get those tow hooks in now...
