I have some Momo shells with red fabric that has largely faded to pink. As secure in my masculinity as I am, I still don't like the pink. Is it worth trying to dye them? If so, what to use? Duplicolor? SEM? RIT?

I'd be leary of dying them with any of the "home" dyes. I'd check with an automotive upholsterer to see if you can either buy new covers or have them made. If you have a light color racing suit the rubbing and sweat will probably rub the color off on to it. I rented an apartment once and they had redyed the carpets to make them look better. My 2-year old daughter ruined about four or five outfits crawling on them.

One of my seats was painted by the PO with the spray can paint made for material. It looks pretty good and the paint stays on the seat. This was to change a faded red seat to black.

Matt,
You may want to shoot Constantine a pm to get the exact brand. I remember him saying it was something off the shelf he got at a Big Box retail parts store..

Redying to red will not require as much dye as a recolor. The stuff the major auto stores sells works fne for fabric. Keep in mind it it topical and will wear off over time but if the car is not a daily driver it should give you a couple of seasons. Also the material will feel stiffer.
