Building a 914/6 vintage racer,questions...
I am purchasing a clean 1973 914 2.0L that I wush to build into a SVRA group 8 914/6 2.0 to 2.5L car. I know everybody will repaond and say"buy one, don't build one" but one of the ideas is that I enjoy that part! I wish to acquire info on proper prep porcedures to follow vintage rules and determine which powerplant would be best for my particular plans. Any resources available?

Are you building it yourself?
I would suggest that you download the rulebook from the specific sanctioning body you are going to run with and follow it to a T. Also, go to as many races as you can and volunteer your time. Ask as many questions as possible and listen intently.
If you are not building the car yourself, I'm sure that there are several qualified shops in your area. Try to find a shop that is running cars in the sanctioning body you are intersted in.
I imagine that this advice may sound obvious but it's easy to get excited and forget the obvious sometime. I speak from my own experience.

Yes, I will be building this car myself. I have downloaded the rules and supps for this car and classes available. I will be racing my 951 in group 8 SVRA this year, so I'll be able to look at a few. Also, last season I have obtained a bunch of info by going to the Road America SVRA races. I have looked @ Patrick Motorsports web site for purchasing products, I remember their cars from the events...

Ecurie Motorosports builds some of the faster Group8 vintage cars around and are in Wisco. I'd give them a visit and chat with Mark Esckuche there... Nice guy, get some ideas.
