Default 964 17" track tires?

I need suggestions for the preferred tire set up (17x8.5" 17x9.5" wheels) on a C2 with race suspension.

The ideal would be Hoosier but they don't have the correct sizes. Ideally I don't want to bash in the fenders to make the tires fit.

I have seen more then a few RSAs running Hoosiers on 17s. What size are you looking for?

Under factory fenders? The wheels have a 50MM offset fore and aft.

what negative camber do you have up front? Our near stock 964 is close with Cup wheel, 235/255 combination.

Fellows, the thought of 245/275 Hoosiers on this old narrow car is an exciting one.

As a final comfirmation, the general consensus is I can use 17x8.5"/9.5" 50MM offset wheels with the 245/275 Hoosiers under the factory bodywork? To the best of my recollection the camber is negative 1.5 for and aft.

Unfortunately, there are no guarantees. If your ride height is a snug fit for smaller tires, then the bodywork will most likely rub.

Ideally, you want your track tires/wheels mounted when the ride height is set, along with a corner balance and alignment. That way you can ensure yourself of a good fit and proper alignment.
