I'm pretty sure he means this car: http://mall.rennlist.com/scripts/fea...uery=retrieval
I'll confess to being interested in either a 964 or 993 Cup but this price ($99,000) seems to be unrealistic. What am I missing?

Rick,
I'm certainly not the 964 cup guru, but I don't think the price is too far off for a car with a fresh motor, diff and suspension, enclosed 24 foot trailer, data acquisition, camera system and three sets of wheels and tires. That the car has a great winning record has to help its value, too.
These are my numbers, which I thought were conservative. All items assumed to be in very good condition or better:
$65,000-964 Euro cup
$15,000-fresh motor, suspension, and diff
$750-Data Acq
$750-Cameras
$4,500-three sets of wheels and tires
$7,000-24 foot trailer
$1,000-spares
$?,???-class winning car
That's a delta of $6,000, not accounting for the intangible worth of the racing results. If one assigns $5,000 to the results, the numbers are only off by a paltry $1,000. Anyone is free to correct my numbers.

Quibble if you want over a few $k here and there on the asking price, but the fact is, this is a proven winning version of a rare and (I like to think) highly desirable car.
Rick, there is at least one reason why you might prefer a 964 Cup over a 993 Cup, and it is for reasons like this that the 964 Cups' value seem to be appreciating.
Perhaps Ron will chime in, but I wonder if his extensive spares collection is included in the price?

Which Data system is in it Ron? Mark's $750 estimate is quite low if it's an MXL, and super low if it's Motec.. and is it an aluminum or steel trailer? What about the inside, cabinets, tire rack, etc?

Either I sell the car for the asking price ,which I know its worth .Or I suffer thru another season racing it with Burger and Scotto. Boy that'll suck ! Geoffry and Tommy know how good and complete my car is .
bests to all my pca buddies, Ron

Good luck with the sale, Ron. Personally, I'd like to see you stay with all of the other GTC1 folks.

A 60,000 euro car *1.47= 88200 USD for a car still in Europe with an unknown mechanical condition. A reliable car that is sorted cannot be done for under a 100K
