Open trailers-Trailex vs Featherlight vs ATC
Any advantages of the available open aluminum trailers?
Trailex bolted together vs the opthers welded?

The majority of the aluminum open trailers I see are Trailex. I've seen a few Featherlite and Cargopro units; don't recall seeing an ATC open yet. Some are electric, some are surge; these were discussed recently as well:

IIRC, Trailex is now a Rennlist sponsor and is offering holiday discounts on trailers, might be worth taking a look.

All of the trailers that you mention are good products but I think the biggest difference is the support and service available for the Trailex. Trailex, specifically Carl, is very helpful and a wealth of knowledge. As part of your research, I suggest you call him. As far as "stuff", welded trailers are obviously heavier ( I think trailex makes one now). Trailex seems to have more goodies like tire racks, winch mounts, etc available. I do own a trailex so I guess I am a bit biased. Good luck.

I've had and used two aluminum trailers extensively. I prefer my Trailex to the others...Tows nicely and has been very durable...The other aluminum open trailer I had was fully welded and was OK,but the Trailex is better IMHO. You won't be disappointed with any of the trailers you've listed.

I had an open Trailex before I bought an enclosed Trailex. It was great. Something to consider is re-sale. It took me a good 20 min. to sell my open Trailex at a DE. I could have sold 3 if I had had them.

Got a CargoPro and it is fine. Got it at a snowmobile dealership at a big discount from the car place and it is the same trailer. Shop around.
Oh yeah. It's a solid deck. The GT3 went on with no real problems.

I like my Featherlight and can definitely recommend them. I think that on average they are cheaper than Trailex but are 250-350 lbs heavier in a comparable length. I think it's built like a brick %&@ house and personally I like the idea of welded over bolted.
I have never owned or towed with a Trailex so I can't really offer you a comparison.

I never looked at one in person but I wasn't fond of the way Trailex builds a very long tongue into their welded trailer. There's around 7 feet of trailer forward to the flatbed. It looks to be about 4 feet longer than the comparable Featherlite.
Anyone know why they do this?
