I think it depends on the region and enforcement of the scruts. I had tint on my 914 initially (when it was a daily driver), and i pulled off the rear window tint, but left it on on the side windows and the little wing windows. The side windows are down when on the track anyway, and no one has ever commented on the wing windows. Its like 15% too. 914 windows are mostly flat though, so easy to tint and untint. I think its easier for them to just say no aftermarket tint, then put in a % and try to measure it. There is enough hassles and specifics the scruts have to go through that actually are safety hazards.
