Default Historic/Vintage Racing license?

A friend of mine has an opportunity to race a vintage 911 in one of those historic races that take place all over the country, but he needs a historic/vintage race license/competition permit.

I only know of BMWCCA and NASA, SCCA licensing. Does anyone know about this other sort of licensing? He's in the greater San Diego area.

In addition, he might be able to do one or two of these races overseas. In order to do that, he needs an FIA race license. Has anyone here done that and can give the details on what is required?

I got a license with HSR. My PCA license and listing my experience level was all I needed.

That is what he needs, a HSR. Where can I get that info?

Thank you all for the responses. I've forwarded this on to my buddy. He doesn't know if he can make the December race, but by February he should have his app., school and medical clearance good to go.

Thanks again!

Stay on your side of the ledger. This is serious business over here.
