ALMS rocks. I hope they don't screw up the rules too much to prevent good overall battles like we saw this year.

I particularly like the Porsches returning to their giant-killer ways this year. Lower power but lighter weight beating the big engine cars, feels like the 50's and 60's (but I'll defer to Bull to tell me about those days since I wasn't there... ).

I can help you with the '60s and '70s weedhopper, but you will have to go elsewhere for the '50s.

It was a great year for ALMS.

Indeed! Good year for ALMS. not a bad year for the RS Spyder and a pretty poor year for the 997RSR (they've also lost the FIA Gt championship to the F Cars)

I made it out there and it was amazing... and yea i was pretty bummed when audi bead the RS Spyder but it was such an intense race..my god. Can you guys edit and cut out all the crashes though I somehow was across the track from anything exciting most of the time.. and wouldn't mind seeing why there were so many yellow flags out all the time! - Steven

Apparently Porsche and Penske have not yet signed the 2008 deal.
Also - What ever happens, the RS Spyders will not be in yellow, and Massen will not be a Penske driver.

Accura are pushing for the 825Kg rule to be applied to LMP2's (as they have a problem reaching the current 775Kg.

Porsche want it to remain the same (775Kg).

Hey guys!
While getting Mr. Roger Penske's autograph, I did ask him about going to Le Mans with Porsche next year and guess what he said to me... "well, I don't know about next year but definitely year after that!"
ENUF SAID.

Why no Massen?

No more DHL?

It looks like the DHL sponsorship will be replaced. (this is all rumor at the moment, but it is what is being reported as the gossip circulating at Leguna Seca).
Also - I think Maasen will most probably be assigned to one of the new Spyder teams that will be racing in 2008. (Maybe LMS)

Maybe we'll be seeing Patrick Long in a Spyder next year then!

I assume so!
I think he will be assigned to a new team as part of the "support" that Porsche provides.

I would say that there is a strong possibility!
