This is going to be a very tough race for the 997RSR's.
We will now be able to see exactly how close they are to the F430's (and it does not look all that promising)

 

Why not promising Spyder?

 

It doesn't look promising as the F430's were about 0.3 seconds quicker (qualifying) at Sebring, and much quicker during the race. (Yes we can say that outright speed for a 12 H race is not so important, but neither was it for the F430's, and I'm sure that if the 997's had had the speed, they would have used it)
Testing at Nogaro this week (for the FIA GT Championship) the F430 put in a time of about 0.6 seconds quicker than the best Porsche time.
So far, the 997EVO has not shown to be on pace with the quickest Ferrari's.

 

Unfortunately the 997RS was 0.8 seconds off the pace of the leading F430 at the First Free Practice for the LMS in Barcelona.
