Default SpeedTV to go HD.....

for the following shows:

http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto...ndustry/40671/

...In addition to its season-long, at-track coverage of NASCAR, with programs including NASCAR RaceDay, Trackside, NASCAR Victory Lane, Tradin’ Paint, NASCAR Live!, NASCAR Performance and Go or Go Home, SPEED also will explore opportunities to bring other racing series and special events to viewers in HD in 2008.

Oh boy, NA$CAR and nothing but NA$CAR in HDTV.....

Memo to SpeedTV: thanks for nothing. How about that NON NA$CAR channel?

At least Speed is making the first necessary step to HD. This will eventually flow down to the red-headed step children (ALMS, Grand-am, and F1). Probably Grand-am first since they are kissing cousins.

Everthing in HD is awesome. NASCAR in HD? BFD. Still it is a start and I'm glad the first steps are being taken.

One can expect that this will get compressed to HD Lite by the cable/satellite distributors to save bandwidth.
