Trailerless Towing?

I did it for a couple of years as I had no place to put a trailer. It was OK, but if you have the option to trailer then that is clearly the best way to go.
I had a pretty good set up to flat tow (make sure you have cables or chains if it should break away). Problems previously listed are valid (breaking distances, no reverse, changing tires, the car must be registered/street legal, potential track damage and having to trailer the car home anyways).
