When JV adjusted to F1 he promptly showed who is the better talent.
In this case we are talking about a talent that compares favorably on his first F1 year with a double world champ who without a doubt is miles better than Damon Hill would ever be and considered by many the best F1 driver on the grid.
Yes,
i did not say JV was equal to or better than Ham, i said he had the same impact and accomplished the same , also no rookie has ever been as prepared for F1 as Ham , he has been around Mclaren for the better part of a decade now .....

i disagree with the damon thing a little , Damon did pretty well against a 4 WDC and one of the greatest F1 drivers ever in his first year @ williams , Damon was an enigma and his drive in 94 in the rain in japan to beat schumacher was above par ..... he was also very highly rated by JV , who wanted him badly to join him @ Bar ,,, Damon sir, was a gentleman and a damn good racing driver.

I don't know why people disparage Damon Hill. He acquitted himself quite well in F3000 as well as F1.

Damon Hill disparages himself. Poor bloke has problems with depression, I can't understand why he doesn't do more endurance racing, he is a nice guy to have around.

A coworker just called me tonight telling me of this news, or rumored news. Interesting. So, who do you feel will fill the McLaren seat?

Plus Alonso practically already knows how a Ferrari behaves

Ray, you are saying this guy :

On September 25, 2005 Fernando Alonso won the World Driver's Championship title at the age of 24 years and 58 days, thus breaking Emerson Fittipaldi's record of being the youngest F1 champion and is also the youngest double champion. He is nicknamed El Nano.[1]

Is going to be a biaaaatch to this guy :

Kimi Matias Räikkönen is a Formula One racing car driver for Scuderia Ferrari. He finished runner-up in the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in 2003 and 2005. Nickname , Good Try.....

You need to lay of the bong buddy ,

The only driver currently in F1 with the talent capable of getting to Alonso level is Ham, Kimi would make a good no 2 , A bottle after every race and he won't care ...

Rass , gotta go the finn is coming ...

You don't need a coworker with silly rumors , to tell you what is happening , i told you this months ago , also next year will be RD last year, Whitmarsh will get 1 possible 2 years at the helm , before Mercedes takes' full control.. .

....

Funny thing is, I was on the phone in a telecon this morning (end of their day) with Brembo Italy, and they made no mention of it..

Nico. Will be little expensive for McLaren. Frank don't want to release him but if they're willing to pay enough, he will let him go.

I agree that it will be Nico. He makes the most sense. None of the veterans that are available are worth much to McLaren. As for the cost to release Nico, rumors I've heard is that it will cost Alonso to leave, or at least cost someone to get him. Probably cost a LOT if he takes the number 1 with him. That would help pay for getting Nico.

I still home Hamilton earns the number 1. It would be a small consolation for McLaren to keep that number on one of their cars considering all the crap this year.

I am a Nico fan -- I think there is untapped talent there.
