I think you are referring to Chuck Stickley. He runs BM in BMWCCA, not sure about NASA

Charles Stickley consistently drove away from the field. If not mistaken, he was running 1:30's and 1:31's all weekend. In the Nationals, I heard he blew up, but I have no personal knowledge other than seeing him sitting in the cross over between the staight after turn one and the backstraight for a good part of the race on Sunday.

I think he got to grid late on Saturday night and started from the rear of the field. Not sure how he finished but I would guess he won overall. He was on pole for Sunday's race. Genuinely nice guy and a real quick driver.
