Default Boxster Spec at Laguna Seca this weekend. Plus lunch laps on Saturday.

The Spec Boxsters will be running at Laguna Seca this weekend (8/24-8/26) with the POC. Come check it out if you are in the area? Saturday there should be lunch laps if nothing disrupts the schedule? Also there will be some GT3 Cup racing joining us, with their own run sessions.

Don't look for me to reply to any questions as I leave now for the hall up.

How's 1:42's in qualifying and 1:43's in the race from a couple club racers and the same from Craig Stanton in a Spec Boxster around Laguna? I understand Craig also managed a 1:41.9 in the Sat race? Unfortunately I developed a low power/mis-fire/stutter/something, 2 laps in from starting on pole. Dropped back to 4th, cleared up after about 7 laps, realed in 3rd place Boxster. Passed up into the Corkscrew, only to have the problem re-appear the instant I pulled along side 3rd place. I was losing 5-7 secs per lap with the motor issue. Which sucked major you know what as Craig Stanton raced in the Boxster again Sunday. We never diagnosed the problem? Other than it was not the O2 sensors, not the Air Flow sensor and although the Throttle Position sensor was giving no reading, we put in a new TPS and the problem persisted.

That sucks about your engine. I would have been great to see all three of you fighting it out for first place. What a great race though. I never knew who was going to be in front when they came down the hill each lap.

Here's a 1:42.632 qualifying lap around Laguna in a Boxster Spec, before the car developed a mis-fire situation.

Oh yeah, did I mention that Craig Stanton raced a Boxster Spec both days? Said he had a grin from ear to ear, hopes to do it again in the future. Hell of a nice guy too!

Hey,
Plug a mic into that camera and tape the mic under the seat. You'll be able to hear the engine sounds and cut out the wind noise.

Yeah I know. I removed the camera to do something? When I put it back in, it seems to be in the line of sight for the wind? Previous location was a lot better. So I need to figure out where that was or, as your suggest, put a mic into it. It's probably pretty cheap to go to Radio Shack and get a mic? Problem is, with a mike, you would have heard me cursing when my engine developed a mis-fire after leading the first 4-5 laps from pole.
