Thanks everyone for all their input. I will NOT be getting a big trailer right away, but when if/when I do, I know I need to buy a 3500 Dually at the minimum.

Default SRW PU drag- trailer layout

Here is a photo that shows another issue in using a SRW to tow long distances with a gooseneck trailer. DRW fenders smoothly kick air around the trailer; SRW makes for a dam big air brake. FYI this trailer is 40' overall as I remember headboard to tailgate is 31' it is just right for probably the longest 911 based car ever made (935K3) and a long bed golf car. WITH nice cabinet, counter top and closet space
What we did to plan this trailer was draw the floor footprints on graph paper and then make cut outs of CAR, PIT CART, GEN-SET, FUEL STORES etc and jig saw puzzle it until we were sure everything fit with proper tire down angles etc. A lot of thought went into the tire rack also for wing clearance and being able to move around things when loaded
