Default Nitto NT01 on NB 993

x-posting this from the 993 board....
_______________________________________________________
Are any Rennlisters running Nitto NT01 R compound tires on their NB 993?

I'm currently running 235/45-17 F and 275/40-17 R Toyo RA-1s, was wondering if the Nitto NT01 245/45-17 and 275/40-17 would work?

Anyone using the 245/45-17 on the front?

Wheels are stock 7 and 9s ET 55.

Thanks!

That is alot of tire for the front and rim size. Try 235/40, but then your rears may be a little tall for the ABS system. I find the R6 in 245/40/18 barely fit and rub the fender with very stiff springs on 8 inch Fikse's. You will likely rub pretty hard and there are oil lines/electrical on the right, and coolant lines on the left. Take your pick which gets it first.

Thanks Bob, that's kinda what I was thinking, its just that the Nitto site actually specs a smaller rim width for the 245/45 (7.5-9.0) than on the 235/40 (8.0-9.5), this is counter intuitive to me, but I've see it with the Toyos as well. The other issue is there is no good rear match for the 235/40 tire.

I could go down in size to the 225/45 F and 255/40 R, but I hate losing rubber compared to the Toyos I currently run (235/45 F 275/40 R). But if they would be faster it would be worth it...

Bob, I got the Nittos on Mike's car w/8.5" fronts and 10" rears, but it was on 18" wheels.

Yep, but the 17's kill him with the 45 series tires. Hey, DAS install, check alignment, when do you want to do this?
