I can understand that for suits that rely on chemical treatments for their fire resistance. I'm still a non-believer when it comes to fibers like Nomex that are by their molecular structure inherently fire resistant. I'll go do some research.

OK, heree is what DuPont has to say about the Nomex fibers:

All garments possess permanent superior heat- and flame-resistance of NOMEX® fibres, and this despite rigorous wear and laundering or dry cleaning (see Wash and Care).

Maybe we need to submit this to Mythbusters.

They would LOVE the chance to BURN stuff. I can sse it now Buster in a sparco vs el cheap. Washed in water 50 times vs dry cleaned 50 times.

Now that you mention it, I believe the comment was in reference to my original G-Force suit from a few years ago, which is a denim type material with probably something impregnated in it. That suit has since been retired to uder-car duty at the track and replaced with a Sparco Top 5.

They would absolutely eat that up. Poor Buster.

20 washings or 25 dry cleaning cycles. Two years maximum usage.

Most if not all racing apparel manufacturer (i.e., Momo, etc.) will have this information in their "care and use" brochure or inserts accompanying the apparel packaging.
