Default Bonneville 100 Open Road Race results

Last Saturday was the annual Bonneville 100 Open Road Race in Wendover Nv. I figured some here might be interested in how the Porsches performed. 8 Porsches and 1 Ruf were entered this year. I was navigating for George Suennen in his 1990 928-S4 in the 160mph class, with an unlimited tech speed (200+mph). Our fastest speed was 189mph on the first leg, and nearly the same speed on the return leg when the engine blew. Rather than repeat the story here, just go over to the 928 Forum for the low-down:

928 Forum, Bonneville 100 race thread

George posted several pictures, as well as a link to the northbound leg video when we blew the engine.

Here are the Porsche participants and results:

George Suennen and Rich Sanders, 1990 928-S4, 160mph class, DNF
Roger Green and Bill Green, 2004 GT3, 155mph class, 2nd place, 154.974mph average
Bill Ball, 1989 928-S4, 145mph class, 3rd place, 145.089mph average
Roland Roth, 2000 Ruf, 140mph class, 3rd place, 139.987mph average
Fred Wagner, 1996 993-TT, 135mph class, 1st place, 129.969mph average
Jim Webster and Don Jordan, 1994 964-Turbo, 125mph class, 5th place, 125.045mph average
Matt Edson and Dave Deets, 1988 928-S4, 120mph class, 3rd place, 119.889mph average
Debra Bieniek, 1999 996 Cab., 115mph class, 2nd place, 114.951mph average
Phil Bowser, 1979 911 Targa, 115mph class, 1st place, 115.005mph average

Everybody made it home safe, and aside from George and myself there were only a couple breakdowns. Ours looks the most serious and painful ($$$$$$), but there is a chance it can be repaired in time for the Gamblers Run in July. Otherwise, our next shot at 200+mph will be the Pony Express in August.
