JPM did pretty decent... didn't he finish like 15th or so... That's pretty good for never having raced on dirt before. I really wish I could've watched it! Just didn't have the time...

BKS

Yeah, he missed the early practice laps cause the belts were too loose .

He did ok given he'd never been on dirt before. Very funny how slow car owner Ray Evernham was, and how much damage he did to someone else's car.

Gordon was sick fast.

Elliott got upside down.

No mirrors on those things, so you don't know who's coming until you try to fill the same space on the track.

I've been wondering how much it would cost to rent a ride in a dirt stocker event. It can't be that much. It would definitely add to the skillset some new stuff.

It's not the rental that will kill your checkbook. It's the damage repair. I had a friend who raced dirt modifieds and he was CONSTANTLY having to repair battle damage and he was a pretty clean drover.

Yeah, that's probably why I'd look into the stock groups at the smaller tracks where the cars are already beat to hell and the whole car can be bought for under 2K.

FWIW Any Chicago area folks can catch Tony Stewart and a few others here in Madison at the end of June. He's running at the 151 speedway with Kenseth and a few others.

A guy I know runs in a "bomber" class with like 75 other cars. He runs an old Honda Civic. BTW, Southern Ohio is dirt track heaven. There are 4 or 5 tracks within 30 miles of my house and they run every weekend.
