Default Traqmate files for Thunderhill

Anyone have some good laps of TH they don't mind sharing? I am trying to suck less. ;-). A 964/RSA/Cayman/Boxster S/996 or somewhat equiv class car would be perfect. But beggers can't be choosers.

964 motor. Lighter body. I've got DL1 data, somewhere, but here's some video right now. My mic was disconnected, so excuse the blaring rock.

THUNDERHILL LAPS, CCW, BOTH CONFIGURATIONS

Not knowing your driving at all, here's my generic advice: faster through 8, and faster (no, faster than that, even) through 9. Brake at marker 3 for 9, and be flat on the gas again by marker 1. It's okay if you jump over the bypass, and brake hard and early for both 11 and 14. If your C4 pushes, it's okay. You might be able to run the inside line into turn 2 (see my video), putting off braking until the last moment.

Flew down and bought my RSA in San Diego on April 24th last year (a Wednesday), drove it to Thunderhill, had Jerry shoe me up with a fresh set of Hoo Hoos and did a NASA DE day there on that Friday. Then droved in a PCA TT on Saturday, where I ripped off a 2:05.01 - not using the bypass, but over the Cyclone - just 3 1/2 days after purchasing the car with only one prior track day in it.

Sorry no data - just had to relive that moment!

Jack, thx for the vid. I noticed that you are going to 2nd @ 14. I was thinking of trying that. Also, yes your flying through 9. I will try to pick it up there a bit. What tires are you running?

A 2:05 at TH with an RSA. Very nice indeed.

I don't think I lose much time staying in 3rd through 14-15, but going down to 2nd is a good way to trick myself into braking harder. Getting the gear between the two turns can be tricky, sometimes (it might be easier if I got solid engine mounts).

The tires had five previous events on them at that point, 255/275 Toyo RA1s. I used them again in May and I'm hoping to get another event out of them in June.

It was a great weekend for me. My previous best had been a 201.5/204.5. So getting down to 1:59.9 and 201.5 was a surprising jump forward.
