I go flat out from snake to just before the entrance of the esses. a slight lift to settle the front, enter the first of esses (left hander) then a brake tap to scrub a touch of speed, then throttle to top exiting the esses before the pucker moment we like to call southbend

ps. I have no idea what my speed is. now that I have a traqmate system I will be able to get that data

All you guys are S I C K !!!

I'm lucky to hit 130 at the end of the back straight...and that's with my foot to the flooor for 10 to 15 seconds...

My traqmate says I'm 109 - 110 at the enterance to the esses but I "feather" the throttle and end up scrubbing off speed and exit at about 95.

I need one of you fast guys to please give me a ride at the next event (seriously) to convince my mind that I would not be violating the laws of physics by keeping my foot in it more.

My car is pretty well set up ( at least I think it is) so I'll bet it probably the driver...

BTW the off I had between the esses and 10 was just confirmed by my mechanic...water pump. Of course I had anitfreeze and slid like I was on baby s$#t. (Dell you'll find out just how slippery it is shortly).

How many of you just run water (w/ or w/o water wetter) and what do you do in the winter???

Sorry for the hijack but since it's my thread...

:
I can't run antifreeze with NASA*. Around March I drain the coolant and refill with distilled water and a bottle of water wetter. When it starts to get cold again I drain some water and top off with straight antifreeze. For my garage kept car I don't need a huge amount of antifreeze to get protection well below expected temperatures. I don't track it in December or January.

* - exceptions usually given if temperature is likely to be below freezing overnight (like at VIR in February for example or Summit Point in November).

Anti-freeze doesn't transfer the heat as well as straight water and is slippery as Eddie found out.

Slippery doesn't begin to describe it !!

My traqmate said I was going 93 when I spun sideways and went off the track before I could even realize that something had happened.

I like the idea of running water (w/ wetter) and adding some antifreeze for the colder months.

I don't want to do that again
