Sweet - V6 engines coming to F1
I think Max has snapped
V6 engines in 2011? Max Mosley has proposed a new engine rule for the 2011 season. The 2.4-litre V8 engine would be replaced by an eco-friendly 2.2-litre turbocharged V6 engine running on biofuel. It's been only 2 years that the V10 engines have been exchanged for V8 engines.
The 2.2-litre V6 engines would develop around 770 horsepower. Mosley plans to restrict the number of revs and wants to set the limit at 10,000rpm. This would make the F1 cars quieter than the current cars. The proposal also says that the engines have to last five Grand Prix weekends instead of the current two.

I agree he has snapped (again )
On one hand you hear that the FIA want s to help reduce the exhorbant R&D cost associated with F1 and then you hear about a hair brained idea like this.
Max, you want fries with that ???

Sweet baby Jesus,
2.2L engines running to 10,000 rpm will not make 770 bhp , quite possibly it will not happen this way , but if it does the new name should be F 0.5 ....
If Bernis was really serious about destroying F1 , he should make them 2.2 , 4 cylinder turbo diesels running on bio-fuel with air brakes instead of the current carbon. .
After hearing the audi's, 22, F 0.5 cars should sound sweet ,

Don't forget the requirement for regenerative power systems (re: HYBRID) in 2009.
So what we'll end up with a biodiesel Prius Hybrid with push to pass and advanced aerodynamics.

Is this the Prelude to the Toyota F1 Prius?
When is Max going to leave already?
The sound of the V8 vs. the V10 is not as sweet. If the V6 get approved and is quieter ala the Audi Diesels, that is killing one of the up front and personal F1 experiences.
