Default SCCA open test day at Barber's 7/7/07

Alabama Region SCCA and Barber Motorsports Park presents. Friday July 7,2007 an open test day with racing Saturday and Sunday July 8/9 2007.Cost for the test day is $220 with no “half” days accepted. Drivers must have a racing license and cars must have annual tech. There will be no tech on test day. Entry fee for the Double SARRC is $320 and $185 for a single SARRC. Refunds after June 22 will be subject to a $100 cancellation fee. Because Barber Motorsports requires the Region to pay for track rental in advance of the event and track rental is at a “premium”, all entry fees will be deposited/transacted upon receipt. ALSCCA does have a refund policy as will be set out in the Supps. Please register at DLB Racing site www.dlbracing.com once the sanction is approved and registration is open.

The gates at Barber will be open at 6pm- 9pm on Thurs., July 5th for test day registration and to park cars. Overnight staying will be allowed in the paddock and in the camping area but will cost $25 for the weekend set by the Zoom Motorsports, and payable to them. Limited electricity is available in some of the paddock areas for $25 per Barber’s rules. Arrivals after 9pm will not be allowed to enter the restricted track area but will be allowed overnight parking in lot “G” which is across from the museum. Lot “G” will be open all weekend for late comers.
Registration will re-open for the test day at 6am on Fri. It will remain open all day with race registration beginning no later than 6pm and until 10pm. We are trying to make arrangements to open registration sooner if possible and will update if that occurs.
There will be a social Saturday night for race volunteers. Race Volunteers are needed in corner working, pit, paddock, timing and scoring, and just plain “gopher”. No SCCA membership is required to be a race volunteer in that a free temporary SCCA membership will be provided. No experience is necessary to be a race volunteer and novice workers will be teamed with an experienced worker. Volunteer workers will receive a $45 a day per diem to defray expenses, will receive a really nice event t-shirt, will be provided free lunch, free beverages, a worker social Saturday night and there will be door prizes. ALSCCA is even trying to arrange for corner workers to have box fans at their station to keep cool in the July heat. The event is expected to be huge and should be a really good time for all involved.

Paddock space is very limited and will be assigned upon arrival, that being said, every effort will be made to accommodate everyone’s needs. Any questions please contact Barry at re@alscca.org or Joe at secretary@alscca.org

This is a wonderful facility and by now most of you have been here before. There have been great strides made between SCCA and the BMP management/promoter to insure that that there will be a “user friendly” atmosphere. We hope that you will join us!
