Default Quick Release Steering Wheel Hub - Suggestions?

I figure you guys would know best. I have a new-to-me Momo steering wheel and hub, and would like to get a QL hub since I will be getting seats and harnesses realitively soon.

Is there a style or brand that is better than another?

I think the NRG eBay units are decent for $90, but obviously you don't want a crap hub for track use. Anybody have one of these with good results?

I rather like Paragon's, but $219 is a little steep for what it is:

Are there other quality options on a budget? I guess those two qualities don't come together...it's one or the other. Anybody got a used one?

Thanks,

I have the one from Paragon and like it. When I was looking around, I didn't find many that people would say didn't have any "play".

Do a search for TC racing quick release, very nice, similar to paragons. It came off really quick the other day when the engine blew and fire went out the back.

The paragon one is the TC unless I'm mistaken.

I have the NRG one on my car. What I like is that it moves the wheel a lot closer to me. Its also impossible to put the wheel on the wrong way. I dont like that it is sort of difficult to remove with one hand, but not much harder than the other one I tried. Before the NRG unit I tried another quick release that went right onto the steering shaft and it was so close to the dash that it pushed against the turn signal stalk. I think I paid $70 for the NRG from www.nopi.com of all places. Its red and ugly but I dont really care it works.

I have the one like your second picture. It is made by Tekniq Snap Off and I bought it on eBay for only $45. I've had it for a year and it's great. Absolutely no play whatsover.

Do a Google search for it and see what turns up.

Here's another one that I was considering. To confuse matters, it's made by TC Design.

What he said. The Tekniq has no play at all. Does everything its supposed to do and nothing more. Just make sure you hit it with WD40 every now and then to keep the operation smooth.

I have used the Snap-Off product on two cars, including the current one, and find it quick, easy to get right, and solid.

I have the Snap-off one and it works well. However the horn thing has been problematic. Either you bend the contact tabs so they can contact the connections and the horn comes on at inopportune times (like in the middle of a race) or you bend them away and you have no horn. I prefer the latter

+1 for the Tekniq Snap-Off Race. Before buying it, I had a steering wheel fall off in my hands at trackout of T1 at the Glen. I suggest not cutting corners on a quick release, and have the video evidence to back up that statement.

I bought the Tekniq Snap-Off Race quick release because of its digital nature: it's either on or off.
