Default PCA DE run groups

What is the order of run groups, from newbie to experienced? I've noticed green, yellow, red, black, white, and there may be others.

Are they standard throughout the PCA?

While the colors are not standard from one region to another, you can pretty much count on Green being the beginners who must have an instructor in the car, and Red being the instructors. The rest vary from region to region.

I rearched using the key words white, yellow, black in the racing forum and had no hits. I also read post titles in the three most recent pages, again with nothing relevant found, thus my question.

Thanks

Actually, this is relevant to my original post. I'm in the Green group for my first DE @ CMP this weekend. For my second DE at Lowes Motor Speedway, July 1st, I received my confirmation and I've been moved to the Yellow group.

Seems the registrar has confidence in my ability to listen to my instructor and do what is required to do to bump me up to Yellow, or there is no Green group for the July 1st DE (which is what I expect happened).

It's refreshing to see somebody find humor when directed to "do a search, it's been covered" instead of flying off the handle with an all out attack perceiving that the DAFS was an attack in the first place. Kudos to you

As for the OP question, I have noticed that the best thing for me to do, especially here in the Southeast where we have MANY regions available to us to participate in DE's, is that I check each website before I register so I know exactly which run groups are which. It sure would be nice if there was a PUBLISHED run group structure by PCA since these are PCA sponsored events. There could be a 2-6 run group system and be done very easily based on the run group colors we know (green, yellow, blue, white, black, red). This would alleviate all the problems people have with run group indetification confusion.

Hmmmm, a structured system that is identifiable by all. What a novel idea

1st DE ever or 1st DE at CMP?

First ever...I've had the car for a year to get in some seat / road miles, and have autocrossed once, but no DE's. Next planned autocross is in Asheville, May 28, and Porschefest / Charlotte in June.

We are running a limited event at Lowe's since it is a 100 entrant only, 1-day event. We don't move students up run group classification until signed off. I can't imagine Nadine promoted you since you have had zero DE's to this point.

Regardless, you will have a great time. We are a great bunch and CMP is a great track to learn on. Not nearly as high speed as VIR (our other main track) or technical. But CMP is a blast!
