The "harsh bump" was a road cone hit at 120mph.

I found this odd as Dymag says that you can basically hit a curb at something like 60mph and the carbon fiber will deflect and not loose pressure where an aluminum rim would split...so how big was this cone?

I've hit dozens and dozens of cones at 60, and a few at close to 100 and never had a problem.

Did you mean a cone (rubber traffic marker) or a curb?

if you look at the wheel it broke where the centre meets the outer rim. im not surprised though. it doesnt look like muck is holding it on.
