Question for those of you who have run PCA enduros and refueled.
I am running the Mid-O enduro next week and am planning to add fuel during my pit stop.
However, I'm confused as what the crew member holding the fire extinguisher must wear. The rules spell out what the person dumping the fuel must be wearing, but notes the fireman must be wearing "full fire safety gear."
Does this imply the same gear as the person dumping the fuel? Or do I have to buy full firefighter/turnout gear for my crewmember?
No, I haven't written to the PCA volunteers as I figured I'd get the correct information here quicker. Unfortunately, searching the archives turned up nothing.
Thanks for the input.

Thanks Bill,
I've read through it several times but am still unclear what the fireman is supposed to be wearing (i.e. what is meant by 'full fire safety gear').

I read it to mean fire saftey suit (drivers suit), shoes, gloves, balaclava, and full face helmet with the visor down or open face helmet with goggles. Make sure the visor is down.

Same as the fueler.
at least, single layer 3.2/1 fire suit, gloves (we use mechnics type and no one has complained), nomex hood with goggles or full helmet with visor closed

ok. now I understand. maybe a friend in the paddock can loan you the gear. also, they are pretty particular about the extinguisher requirements and little details like the shield being down (if they wear a helmet).

My dad and I are about the same size so I might buy a cheap proban suit for him and I can wear it for hot DE days as well.

I've actually held the extinguisher for other racers and I've had them do the same for me. It shouldn't be a problem finding someone there to help you out. We switch drivers so one of us is always sitting in the hotpits willing to help a brother out.
