Ah... my very first DE was at Charlotte.
I have alot of great memories from there... going into NASCAR 3 scarred $hitle$$ and looking at my spedometer and realizing I was only doing 80!
Comming off the oval into turn one of the infield can be tricky as evidenced by this guy (not me)

Agree with you on the SH!TLESS......watching that video (link from Chris) I noticed there is quite a bit of the superspeedway as part of the road course. I can only imagine what type of speeds I "could" attain in the GT3.

Wow... lots of stuff to 'meet and greet' along that circuit. Barrels, banners, walls, gates...
It surely looks exciting.
I bet Carolinas throws in a chicane to slow things down if they choose to run that much of the oval.

I realized alot of things that day.
The back straight is not flat. I later found out it has about a 7 degree slope to it, very strange and then as you approach NASCAR 3 literally my whole windshield was showing asphalt and it felt like I was about to get launched over the top rail.
My instructor who was great told me (then showed me in his race car) that the faster you go enterring 3 the better it feels as the suspension compresses and you get tremendous grip. I eventually made it up to 140 but my instructor was north of 160 +++
I can't wait until the Parade comes to Charlotte in'08 and I get a chance to run that track again..
BTW how are you getting in?

It is much smoother now than when that video was taken I believe. It looks like that vid was taken before the track repave.
I don't think they repaved the infield portion of the course, but they did seal it I believe.

Nobody else runs a chicane. And Blue Ridge PCA didn't run a chicane when they ran there.

The transition from the infield to NASCAR 1 is a nasty one and one time he didn't get it right and left his rear bumper on the track
