Default AMB Transponder failure?

Had an AMB go bad on me this weekend...It was a hard wired version. Any suggestions or is this a replace rather than repair item?

AMB is pretty good about repair/replacement prices.
They have repaired/replaced many of the X160 (yellow, karting) transponders with good customer service.
However, there is no guarantee you will get the same transponder ID # back, if that matters.

I had a rechargable one fail out of the box. I sent it back and they replaced it without a question. I've since switched to the hard wired model.

Their customer service person was a little hard to get ahold of by phone. He did respond better to e-mails.

I got a different transponder number when they replaced my rechargable unit.

I talked with AMB in Georgia today. They stated that if the unit is not repairable they will sell me a reconditioned unit for 1/2 price.

IIRC, that sounds about right. The reconditioned unit will have a different ID#, a repaired one will keep the ID#.
