Spin a yarn
You're in a DE session, 1 car ahead, a bunch behind on a long straight. Heavy braking for a 2nd gear turn. Car in front spins beginning at the apex meaning the vision of those cars behind is not good. For you westies, that would be turn 14 at Thunderhill CCW. There is a flag station there.
Left, right, or center of spinning car. Quick. What would you do?
Left, you're going off track. Just gravel.
Right, there's room, but he's not done spinning.
Center, it's on the race line and there are lotsa cars behind.
I chose center and aimed at the spinning car for lack of conviction on anything else to do. I stopped w/ the spun car. Didn't want to close off any escape routes for those close behind, by me going around immediately. Watched the mirrors w/ great anticipation and all was well thankfully.
Generally, do you tend to "follow" the spinning car until it is at least clear which direction it's going? By follow, I don't mean follow it into the dirt, but if it's clearly staying on the track, then keep the thing in front of you. Would you stop w/ the spun car?
You call the play...
