This premium (w/$1k deductible) is about 25% of the premium quoted by Laurel for club race insurance coverage. So, if it's for real, the FF coverage is a very good deal indeed.

Where can I sign up?

They have been making the rounds at the club events and with Seth's thread about that group having been at Road Atlanta this past weekend at least there seems to be life in the business. At least there are people looking to offer something rather than take it away.

I hope it is at least half as good as it sounds.

Chris Maume emailed me two documents. Here is the first:

Snellings Walters Motorsports Insurance is proud to announce the newest addition to our list of unique motorsports insurance offerings. Our experience insuring teams and drivers has given us the knowledge to develop a driver’s education insurance program that is legal, effective and is highly affordable.

In the world of personal auto insurance it is becoming more and more common for the language in policy exclusions to broaden it’s definition for anything off the normal public road surface. This program is designed to provide coverage for those policies that are deficient in providing physical damage coverage to vehicles used in sanctioned driver’s school events.

We recommend to everyone that you read your own personal policy for exclusions related to any activity on a racetrack. Exclusions can be broad and all inclusive so please consult a professional insurance agent to provide you with the appropriate information on your coverage.

The rates are as follows:

3% premium based on the actual cash value of the vehicle. For collector cars and agreed value must be established on the primary insurance coverage and must be corroborated on manheimgold.com. An appraisal may be necessary to properly bind coverage for AV.

The deductibles are as follows:

$0-$25k - $1,000
$25,001-$50k - $2,000
$50,001-$75k - $3,000
$75,001-$100k - $4,000
$100,001-$125k - $5,000
For more information about the program please call:

The second document is the application. Under the Letter of Intent section, it reads:

"It is our intention to accept the Insurance Plan offered thru Southern Insurance Underwriters by Great Lakes United Kingdom at Lloyds for On Track Physical Damage Protection."

So far, it looks good to me...

I sure hope this comes to fruition, my AC policies end in August and they don't include Club Race insurance either way.

if it is underwritten by Fireman's Fund - then it will be excellent. They have my cars and my house and they are a very good company - both in service and coverage. I might pay a little more, but so far, I have been unable to match the LEVEL of coverage using anyone else.

I may give her a call myself - since I am in Raleigh, too!

Thanks for the tip!

Hey guys I am just trying to put the word out about a potentially great product for us at a time where people are having to go to one source only.

States they cover and the such I just don't know. 22 in all and working on more she said and since I am in NC I know it is covered.

Again, when I get more info I will pass it along. In the mean time...I gave you a company name, contact person and number. Let your fingers do the walking.

Good find, thanks for the tip. I don't see how they are going to make any money and stay in busness at the levels they are charging. will contact and get the fine print.
