Default Barber can suck my......

These guys are a bunch of fuggin ****'s. They announce the track will stay open till 9 pm and at 6:15 they are trying to kick us out. We tell them it's supposed to be open til 9. They leave and come back and say yes it closes at 9. Wait half an hour and a new guy comes by. Repeat process and do it again. This is unreal, they apperently have never heard of southern hospitality.......

Nice track but what is the deal with all of the fences and gates????? It's a race track for christ's sake not Fort Knox. My best customer was not too happy with the way one of the security guys handled himself and said he will not be coming back to Barber. They have 50 cars for the weekend and are losing their asses (PCA). With the treatment from the staff a club race at Barber may soon be a thing of the past.

Too bad.

This is pretty normal for Barber. At one point, the local SCCA chapter said they wouldn't be coming back after receiving a bill for the replacement of guardrails that no one at Barber could actually account for. I'm not sure if that relationship has been repaired. I've been treated like an idiot multiple times by the staff at Barber.

I remember one time when we were waiting in a line almost 1/2 a mile long within the Barber facility to get into the gate. I got the bicycle out of the trailer to ride up and shoot the breeze with some friends. I was scolded by roving security and told NEVER to ride outside of the paddock without a helmet or I would be escorted off the property.

After spending 57 million dollars you would think the staff would be kissing some *** to make sure everyone was happy and would come back. Or not.

Chris, I had to cancel Thursday due to some business activity. ON the contact list, from the Barber website, is the list of people at Zoom Motorsports that actually set the events for Barber. I would call and tell them how you were treated by the security personnel.

Maybe these people from Zoom should go to Hallett in May, the 5-6, to see how to put on a great and fun event.

I've also heard a lot of things about Barber. Charges for grass if you go off, by the square foot. Hit the tire wall? Here's a bill for brand-new Michelins to repair it!

It is a beautiful track, and fun. But I'm still in no rush to head back after some of the things I've heard.

Their security drones at the main gate are mulletheads. They could not organize a sock drawer even if it only contained one sock. They usually have 5 guys standing around, with their gates abandoned, while only one guy checks vehicles in, when there is a line of like 60+ vehicles lined up.

Total unapologetic melonheads.

Ouch! The staff at Road America can also be rather "trying" at times. It's my favourite track but many times they really don't seem to be glad you're there... after the first time or two running down to corner 5 makes it worth it...

I can tell you this mirrors all the feedback I have ever received about Barber.

Nice track but very attendee unfriendly staff and management policies.

I was looking at that PCA region's DE schedule this morning contemplating doing an event there later this year, now I am going to rethink that and look for other more friendly tracks.

Too bad. They must think their $hit don't stink.

Its really too bad that the track is like this. There is a real need I feel for new tracks in the SE. CMP is a fun track, but facilities just need to step up a little, Road Atlanta is nice, just hard to get into sometimes. Lowes is a blast, but you simply can't get dates. Rockingham is fun, but isn't used enough.

VIR is heaven on earth, and is simply why I continue to go there. If you want to be treated great by the staff, and enjoy your car at the same time, VIR is THE place to go. They GET IT!

Hopefully, High Rock International will happen and we'll have a new place to play in the mid-atlantic area and Barber can just take their motorcycle/Porsche Driving Experience and have a good time with themselves... We just have to hope they don't have the same "attitude". The last I heard, HRI wanted to hire the former Barber manager to be the track manager. THAT WOULD TRULY SUCK. That dude shouldn't be making change at a register at McDonalds, much less a managing track!

Here is a thread from a few weeks ago asking why more folks are not attending.
https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ghlight=barber

Those of you that have had bad experiences might want to notify these guys and let them know about it.
Maybe we can get things changed so that we can all enjoy the track.
I have not driven Barber but am planning to go in June for a PCA DE. Other than RA it is the only track I can drive to with out staying overnight.

Lets try to complain to the people in charge. Eventually they will come around if enough people are heard. Or at least we can hope.

I thought we were in great shape in the SE...there are TONS of tracks within a few hours drive from Charlotte. Summit Point isn't too far, and you forgot about Roebling Road, which has always been great but is even better with the new pavement. Obviously nothing compares to VIR, but I've always thought we were in great shape in the SE!

Zoom Motorsports manages Barber now, have they since it opened?

Well, any of you within a tow to Tulsa OK, want a fun track, great people, and a laid back environment after the day is done, Hallett is the place.

No, I don't think Zoom managed it from the start. I know originally (from what I understood) Barber hired the guy that originally managed VIR when it re-opened.

That didn't last long, then he moved on to Barber.

Default Barber

I must be lucky or something. I just got back from Barber, doing the Al. PCA DE, and had a great time. The weather was perfect, and pretty much everything on Friday and Sat. went off perfectly. I did get there at 9:02 on Thursday night, and they were closing the gates to the paddock, but they let me drop my trailer in a secure lot across from the museum so I wouldn't have to drag it into Birmingham to the hotel. Everyone from the Al. region was super friendly and helpful, and my limited exposure to the security people was fine. This was my 2nd trip to Barber, and I had no issues the 1st time either. Its a 9hr tow for me, so there is no way I am pulling that far if I am treated like I am not wanted or welcome, but so far, so good.
