On-Track DE Insurance

Gang,
I checked in with Chris. He seems very busy and overwhelmed and takes time to respond.
He offers a DE policy, and a Race policy. They are seperate policies underwritten by different carriers. There is not one combined policy that offers a solution for Racing and DE. You would need to buy 2 seperate policies (and the race policy required a minimum of 72 hrs run time) FYI.
Laurel's policy does offer a combined solution (racing & DE) in one policy.
For those of you like me that particpate in both avenues, I dont think Chris' policy will work for you.
Hope you find this information helpful!

Laurel policy doesn't combine DE & racing, you should check with them again as they have two programs one for club racing and the other just for DE. Your going to pay a lot more for club racing!

I just sent Chris an email. I bought my 04 GT3 last summer strictly as a DE track toy. I have rented a garage at Miller Motorsports Park (MMP) here in Utah and will keep the car there. Unfortunately, within the past 6 months Allstate has clearly excluded DEs. I spent a day in early February on the phone with Geico, Liberty Mutual & State Farm asking for a hard copy of their policies. To date, nothing has come in the mail. This morning, I spoke with local agents from Liberty and State Farm and asked them specifically about "DE" coverage. I spent most of my time trying to explain that "DE" was not racing, but have the feeling that when they check with the underwriters they will use the "racing" term. I asked each for a copy of the policy as well, and not one readily agreed. To add insult to injury, none of the insurance companies post their policy details on their websites. I'm getting frustrated...
Hopefully, Chris' policy may be the right fit...

I'd like to think that we wouldn't be guessing about things that could really hurt someone's reputation.
Maybe the original poster can tell us who his insurer is, then we'll know for sure.

Who told you it was denied? Can you please provide details? I'm not privy to the details of this claim and I am precluded from providing information as an agent, but I might be able to provide some advise.

It is Snellings Walters. Sorry for the fire drill but I was pissed. I JUST received a call from them advising their "underwriting department" had a meeting and were advised there is to be no "radius" limitation. Supposedly I will be covered.
I will post again later.
