RE: LRP - April 3-4 -- Anyone here going?
NNJR region of the PCA will be at Lime Rock Park April 3-4 of this week. Forecast is for rain, I'm praying for clear skies! (I believe that God is a Porsche fan! )
Anyone else going? Look me up: car #142 (Red 944S2) running in White. I'll also be running the tech line in the mornings.
Lime Rock's my favorite track, and I can't wait!!!

Heh, you know I'm going. I better not get any flak about my camera mount, because I'm working the 6:30AM shift of front gate. It'll be humorous watching you try to get on the track without a wristband
Seriously, though. The rain forecast has gotten more promising. Thunderstorms are no longer predicted on Friday, which means that we should be able to run both days. It may be wet, but at least we'll be driving.
I'm actually a bit torn on whether I want rain or not. I would prefer we don't have it since my wife will also be driving, and I think she would prefer to have nice weather. Personally, I'm going to make it my mission to work on smoothness, so some rain would be perfect for me.

Brian: If you don't give me a wristband, we won't be able to tech any of the cars!!! I think you'd get quite a few ANGRY people lined up at the front gate!!! hehe...
Seriously: you need not have any fears of your camera mount! I will personally sign off on the mount! (Trade you a wristband for a sticker! hehe) Just let Kimberly know that when she's going through tech to get my attention and I'll check it on the spot.
Regarding the weather: at least it will be warm (50 to 60!) But I'm in denial regarding the rain: it's NOT GOING TO RAIN!!! (I do need to get more rain seat time, myself)
See ya there!

I could use some more rain seat time as well. It's hard to believe, but out of 11 events that I've been to, I've had just a half day of rain.
It certainly isn't a good omen to be starting the season with showers, though.

My car's not ready yet. Hope to be on the track with Schattenbaum on May 1.
Hey, Jersey guys. What's the name of that famous helmet painter in NNJR? Got a number? Does he have a web site?
Thanks.
Richard

Hello Zoltan.
You can't really go by the area's forecast.
The Track seems to have its Own. It could rain in Lakeville and Sharon but not at the Track and vice
versa. More often than not, the track weather generally turns out better than the region forecast.
Wish that I could be with you guys at Lime Rock.
Have some Safe, Serious Fun.
Eugene.

Pray for no rain. I was there today and will be there Thusrday and Friday. When it rained for a short time today, the track got super slick, and I tested the wide side of Bid Bend. At least the mud is drying.

Re-cap of event:
Well, we got in two full days of track, although some of it was in rain / almost snow.
I learned that I have a long way to go: while I've got the basics down, there's still a whole bunch of stuff I need to work on! I could have pushed myself and the car more, but the weather and limited traction was always in the back of my mind.
There were a lot of off-track excursions, (none-by me!) On Thursday alone, there were 10 spins logged! It was definately slippery out there!
All in all, it was great to get back on the track! Pocono North Course is on Saturday / Sunday: can't wait!!!
