Post Speed Channel Replaying 1993 F1 Races

Much to my delight, Speed Channel began a series last night in which they are going to replay the F1 races from the 1993 season (though edited to fit into a 1 hour program). Last night was the GP of South Africa from Kylami. It looks like the series will run on the Sunday nights on the off weekends of this season

Watching brought back memories of waking up on Sunday mornings in college to watch the races live (hangover be damned) on ESPN.

Next installment will be the Brazilian GP. If memory serves, that race was where Senna put on one greatest drives I have ever seen in a heavy rain to take the victory.

How cool was it to see Prost, Senna , and M. Schumacher dicing it out for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd?
Prost and Senna the veterans and Schumacher with only one Grand Prix win under his belt.

That's great, but WHY CAN'T THEY REPLAY THE MOST RECENT RACES ON MONDAYS (or some other weekday) LIKE THEY USED TO?!?!?

Hey, they just changed Speed Channel to digital on my cable. Hafta get 4 digital boxes (one for each TV), and pay more for a digital subscription..

Looks like I may be going for Dish Network!

Notice that the 1993 cars, even with active suspension, wide track and slicks, they were not nearly as 'crisp' as the modern day F1 cars? Very cool to see these races. I missed most all of then in the early 90's due to racing R/C cars all over the world..

When is the 93 Brazilian GP gonna be televised?

I think the Brazilian GP will be shown Memorial Day weekend. It looks like they are going to show the 1993 season on the Sundays in between this season's races. You can check the tv listings at www.speedtv.com

One thing I noticed about the 1993 cars is that they didn't look as twitchy as the current cars on the straitaways. Also, they seemed less aerodynamically sensitive and could even draft better (based on how close Prost, Senna, and Schumacher were running in the early stages of the race).
