Rolling Cab
I want to take my C4 Cab to DE but am concerned about rolling it. Can anybody tell me:
1. Does the cab have any roll protection?
2. How often to cars roll at DE?
TIA

a c4 cab is reinforced (windshield) but few tracks will let a cab out without a roll bar. It is not very frequent that cars are roll'ed during DEs, although it happened this past weekend at Willow Springs in CA. A 993TT rolled, but that was due to a tire blow out.

check the 993 forum archives for info. The matter has been discussed extensively there.
There is one bar which is made by DAS for the cabrio, removable.
Good luck

My 993 cab has the DAS roll bar that Danny mentioned. In fact, my cab has Danny's roll bar that he removed from his 993 cab and sold to me. It is not a perm. installation and is ideal for DE's and tracks that require roll bars. Hopefully, I will never "need" the roll bar but found it necessary for my track (cab) car.

I had a 91 C4 cab with a DAS rollbar. I was amazed how much it stiffened the entire chassis. That said, when the car was pushed at the track, it would sometimes behave very unpredictably. When it behaved the same way with Dave Schardt driving at Putnam, I knew it was time to sell it. If you intend to get serious about DEs, sell the cab and buy a coupe.
That said...how about a new thread swapping rollover stories? You tell me your's...I'll tell you mine.

I echo the opinion to sell the cab and get a couple if you are serious about track events. On the other hand, if you want a dual purpose car, and you don't plan on club racing, the cab is not necessarily a bad choice. I set mine up with H&R CoilOvers, adjustable sway bars, strut brace, hoosiers, DAS roll-bar, etc and it performed very well and very predictably on the track. I had several instructors with 964's comment on how well the car handled and performed.
