I do think though that both of those are good preparation/fitness program for racing. Hockey is good for reaction, coordination, balance, strength etc (very aerobic) and bicycling helps with endurance (although my rides arn't long). Also riding abicycle here in S. Fla requires a lot of awarness and fast reaction!

Finn's secret is reps of lifting 12 oz. weights, as seen here ( Greg Fishman spotting for him)

Shhhh....

The key is being fast enough to empty it before the photo is being taken!
As you can see, I still have a lot to learn, real pros like Greg are fast enough to throw the friggin' beer mug into the trash can before the photo!
(and he even has time to do a pose as if nothing happened)

Getting fit definitely help!

I started running last February to lose weight and have been running regularly since.

The first DE after I lost 15 to 20 lbs I noticed that I was more alert and fresh for the entire 20 minutes where as before the weight lost I would find myself wondering when the session be over and lap time varies from start to end.
