GT3 Cup car exhaust noise, under 92 DB @ 50 ft ??

my friend want to take his cup car out to Laguna Seca which typically has 90db @ 50 ft limit but at TracQuest Todd is able to get 92 DB. does anybody know if the 996 Cup car can be under that with out any mods??

I agree with Greg. He'll be lucky if the Cup car is under 102dB. There is no muffler on a Cup car, so all you have is a sport cat to muffle it. Now the exhaust pipes do exit out the back, so if someone is shooting from the side, you may have a chance but I doubt it.

That's what I thought guys... except TRG told my friend it should pass, barely. And I'm thinking... no way. They must've had a miscommunication some where... Or maybe they thought the event is a high db limit day.
Although, Hank Watt's monster Porsche passes no problem, but his car is muffled by the turbo's at least.

The 996 based Cupcars are not, IMO, particularly loud as race cars go. You'd be surprised how much the cats quiet things down. I don't know about specific measurements, but every event I go to has many cars that are louder than my Cupcar, even some modded street cars!
So, unless they are real sticklers at Laguna (and they may well be, I have NO idea on that).....
